Last Thursday night law enforcement authorities were dispatched to the scene of a fatal shooting in the city limits of Forest. Tykey Bland, 19, of Harperville has been identified by family members as the victim of the shooting.
Bland was a 2017 graduate of Scott Central Attendance Center.
“Our family is hurting right now because a beautiful boy was taken from us,” said a family member of Bland. “There is no sense for this awful violence amongst our children. There are no words and no worldly possessions that should ever cost anyone their life, especially someone so young.”
As of a weather related early press time calls to Forest Chief of Police Will Jones went unanswered. This remains a developing story.
