The Scott County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred last Saturday night in the Ringgold Community of Scott County east of Highway 21. The shooting stemmed from an altercation earlier that night and ended with Tyler Martin, 26, of Harperville and Brittany Dunn in the hospital each with a gunshot wound.
The altercation that reportedly started between Martin and Jeremy Christian of Harperville led to Christian alegedly opening fire on Martin, Dunn and other yet to be identified individuals.
Martin suffered a non life threatening gunshot wound to his leg and is currently in the hospital recovering.
Dunn was shot once in her back and family members said that she might be paralyzed from the waist down and never walk again.
Captain Jody Stewart with the Scott County Sheriff’s Department said that there has been no arrest made yet in this matter and that this is an ongoing investigation.
