Pleasure
Pleasure is probably misunderstood or misinterpreted by many people. Pleasure is feeling joy and being happy about something that happens. When a Christian, for example, learns that his faith leads his soul to possess eternal life, this produces pleasant peace.
Many people think wrongly when they interpret pleasure as something bad, and that historically comes from oppressive minds that have no interest in us all being free, and that is not Christian. True pleasure is a symbol of freedom and life, therefore it comes from God, and we should look at it with clean eyes, just as when we read the Sermon on the Mount that Jesus Christ preached. “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” Matthew 5:11-12 ESV
Life is what the children of God feel pleasure in and enjoy the place in which our Creator has put us in this world. Although pleasure is not the supreme good, it is part of all the elements that give us happiness in this earthly life. Aware that each life develops differently, the Holy Spirit gives each Christian gifts that we can promote and develop according to our mentality and culture.
We come to feel pleasure when we have done something good not only for ourselves but also for others by obeying God. Pleasure never becomes bad when we are involved in loving and helping the community because that is a good cause. Therefore, we must never be afraid to serve freely and believe in the eternal life that the Lord has promised and revealed to us in his Word.
“ By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcome the world - our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?. 1 John 5:2-5 ESV
There is nothing explicitly written about pleasure but we are aware that it exists and is present when we carry out activities according to our Christian principles. This is reflected in our way of living and coexisting with others.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. That I will teach transgressors your ways, and sinners will return to you.” Psalm 51:10-13 ESV
May God bless you.
