The Friend
There are cultures in the world where people tend to have many friends and like to call one another friend. The truth is that it is very nice to have what is a true friend with whom we maintain a relationship that is beyond the place where we live. But experience has also taught us that we must be very careful. “Many seek the favor of a generous man, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts. All poor man’s brothers hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him!” Proverbs 19:6-7 ESV.
If a friend is a Christian, it will mean that he loves others and that his love will be manifested all the time, in good times and bad, and under any circumstance he will always be willing to help or collaborate in difficult situations. In this aspect without a doubt, God is always our best friend. On the other hand, we, without knowing him in person, love him with all our hearts. Since we have received gifts from Him, we should always be willing to share them with others, as if we were friends.
The son of God in this case is the best of our friends, because the Father loved him so much that he was worthy to the utmost, and in that same way He loved his disciples who were unworthy, in the same way as we are. in this world. We love Christ, he is our faithful friend and we should always be willing to persevere in this relationship where love is present. In us there is no hatred that is present in many actions in the world, and that is because each Christian is aware of the grace and truth that exists in Christ and his commandments that we obey.

Christ is united to us more than a brother. “You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing, but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15: 14-15 ESV.
The love of our common friend calls us to love each other and to bear witness to Him and salvation. If we do not do it we are sinning because we do not show that we believe in the eternal life that has been given to us. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believe in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 ESV.
Being someone’s friend also implies that we share ways of thinking. Hence it is important to be careful about the world, because there are many conflicts, violence, etc. in it. “You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:4 ESV.
The spirit of the world is inclined to teach that the accumulation of goods is good, and that we can accumulate according to our fancies; However, the Holy Spirit that we have received teaches us to be willing to do good whenever we can in the environment that surrounds us. That means that Christians are friends and brothers in spirit.
May God bless you.
