God and his children
Each believer through their union with Christ has come to form the group that we call Children of God. By accepting Christ as our Savior we also become part of the family of God since our heavenly Father desires to have many children in and through his only begotten Son. So when we become members of the family we must bear witness to our faith through the Holy Spirit, who qualifies us if we have been adopted by the Father.
We must understand that without Jesus Christ no one could become a child of God, nor please the Father. Our Lord reveals to us that God becomes truly Father of all those who accept the Gospel and as a consequence of this we are born spiritually. All of this implies repenting of our sins and beginning to fully trust in Jesus to receive the gift of eternal life. “But to all who receive him, who believe in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” John 1:12-13 ESV
When the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us, we should be distinguished by the love we profess for God, others, and ourselves, and by not being involved in a worldly life. Although all of this is difficult to achieve and reach final perfection, God forgives us and adopts us as children. “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, son that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.” Galatians 4:4-7 ESV
Humanity has always been divided between the children of God and the children of wrath, “among whom all of us also once lived in the passions of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature sons of wrath, the same as the rest.” (Ephesians 2:3 ESV) Without Christ, lost, and to whom the message of love and salvation is directed. But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift,: Ephesians 4:7 ESV
There is a fullness that is not simply intellectual knowledge nor a pure recognition of the fullness of Christ as the Son of God, but in that fullness there is a council of God for each child in his family.
Jesus often used the title Son of Man in connection with his mission. He identifies with the lost men whom He comes to seek and save. He gave his life as a ransom for many and one day He will come a second time in His glorified body to judge and reign.
May God bless you.
