Resurrection
The resurrection of Christ was not a simple miracle, it is unique because it forms the basis of the Universal Christian Church. It has never stopped nor will it stop growing in the more than two thousand years of its existence. This will be the case until the end of time. Without the resurrection of Christ our faith would be vain and would have no meaning. “Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15: 12-14 ESV
We live convinced that our Lord destroyed death and we are free. The death of our body does not include our soul and thanks to this we have eternal life.
Everything we preach is born from our faith and that the Holy Scriptures, when they teach us about the resurrection, give us the centuries-old basis of the universal Church. Without it there would be no redemption or regeneration. Jesus bought us and redeemed us with His life, “knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.” 1 Peter 1:18-19 ESV
Our generation can be possible because it is absolutely necessary since without it, every person is dead in crimes and sins. Someone who has not been regenerated cannot understand the affairs of God and no good works can change him. That is why when Jesus spoke with Nicodemus he repeated “Do not marvel that I said to you, “you must be born again'” John 3:7 ESV
The resurrection of Christ implies spiritual benefits for Christians who can call themselves brothers, because when He was raised from the dead He called His disciples brothers. “So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell His disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.” Matthew 28:8-10 ESV
He also told them that their God was now their God, and that His Father was their Father. It is Christ’s will that His people be a happy people full of joy because His resurrection silences any fear of death. We will be physically resurrected on the day of the Lord, and those who are still alive will join us in the final victory over death and sin. “For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 ESV
May God bless you.
