Wisdom
There are many people who think that wisdom can only be achieved by studying in higher education to achieve a professional academic degree, however that is not true because wisdom is a gift that only God can give. Philosophical speculation and intellectual knowledge are matters related to the life of education, and they are things in each person's life.
“Blessed is one who finds wisdom, and the one who gets understanding, for the gain from her is better than gain from silver and her profit better than gold.” Proverbs 3:13-14 ESV
There are those who define Christian wisdom as “that talent of the heart and mind that is needed to live as God commands.” Of course, wisdom requires knowing the deep things of God and that is essentially practical.
Wisdom comes from the Lord, and if we want to receive it, we must ask God for it. As we live in a world that is increasingly full of communications and technological advances that the business tries to sell to us, it is not easy to ask for it. Wisdom involves efforts to contemplate and understand what God wants from us, and that requires experience in life and possessing deep reverence and respect for the Lord that can be achieved by obeying his commandments.
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And steadfastness has its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:2-8 ESV. When we have unbreakable faith, it will make us emerge stronger when we walk towards wisdom.
A Christian needs to be a stable person in his way of life, always understanding that God is generous. His generosity needs not only to be repaid but requires our obedience in living according to his Word. In this way, the experiences we live daily can provide an integral character that can be completed with wisdom. When we ask God for wisdom we must be sure that we will always receive something good and convenient for us.
May God bless you.
