Christian Privileges
Privilege is a right that benefits a person or a specific group in a special way. As Christians we are privileged in many ways, let us not forget that we belong to God’s family, therefore every believer is a child of God, free from the slavery of sin thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus and the Holy Spirit that he sent us.
“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as son, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” Romans 8; 14-16 ESV
Our privilege is an honor that non-believers do not enjoy nor can share with us for an important reason. “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace” Romans 8:6 ESV
Believers may be chastened by the Lord, but they will not be condemned with the world. Because of their union with Christ through faith, they are secure. This is one reason why we must go to those who do not know or enjoy God’s love and let them know that they can receive from God his love, the joy of true peace that only He can give. We must let them know that corruption abounds in the world, and with it, spiritual death, which the enemy of God manipulates and attracts the weak by showing them attractive paths that will always lead them to the precipice where they will fall forever.
The path Jesus invites us to walk is narrower than the world’s and offers no common attractions. However, when we accept to walk alongside Jesus, we will have the opportunity to live that no one can offer or give away, because there is no price for it. Jesus gives us eternal life. When our body dies one day, regardless of the cause, our soul will continue to live eternally in His company. Our sins have already been forgiven because we have believed and placed our lives in the Lord’s hands.
How much did it cost? Nothing, only our repentance for having sinned, and accepting that He died to pay for our sins, and that He resurrected before ascending to heaven, where He lives with our heavenly Father.
For those who reach heaven to be with Him, no emails were necessary, no money to pay, no works to show; only your faith counts. In this way, we can begin to enjoy the privileges of God’s kingdom by growing spiritually through the nourishment of reading the Holy Scriptures.
“So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by in you may grow up into salvation.” 1 Peter 2:1-2 ESV
Our new life needs good food that is different from the fast food of the world.
May God bless you.
