Body and Spiritual Health
There is no doubt that both scientific and technical advances have made possible great advances in medicine, although this does not always mean an advance in the spiritual life of humanity. A clear example is the rapid creation of the vaccine against COVID19, and that many still refuse to be vaccinated, and we need to remind them that this disease is not over. For them, the consequences that denial imply on the rest of the population do not matter. For many it is very easy to remain in comfort and recreation, and remain indifferent to what God does, since He gave gifts, will and wisdom to the scientists who created vaccines. On the other hand, there is a position with political power that unfortunately opposes vaccines.
A relaxed and comfortable life, or the ignorance of the one who does not have much education, during the history of humanity has generated estrangement towards God. These days this behavior continues despite the massive and instantaneous communication that exists. Some have chosen to stay away from the church and refuse to take care of personal health, especially the virus that produced a pandemic not yet fully controlled in the world. Many prefer to ignore the warnings and go out to recreate convinced that the mundane is better.
As Christians we must realize that thought is expressed through our brain that gives impulses to be expressed in actions and words. When we receive the Holy Spirit and he dwells in us, we receive discernment from Him. We also know that the Word of God is life. “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edge sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intention of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 ESV
Our love for God, for ourselves and for others, must be manifested in the vaccine. In these moments COVID still affects and can recur in many people. The vaccine will show that there is a love for others and for ourselves, knowing that God always loves us and takes care of everyone so that we are not transmitting agents of the virus. If Jesus Christ gave his life so that our sins would be forgiven, He is the strongest example that we follow an example of action that involves a sacrifice based on compassion and love for others. The wisdom of God expressed in the created vaccines should not be contradicted with an indifference. It only takes a personal decision to walk through a narrow door for the virus to be defeated.
The virus infection must be resolved with faith in what God inspired for the vaccine to be created. Our actions must express the faith of the one who hears the Word. “The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:45 ESV
Let us never forget that it is God whom we serve and allow Him to control our hearts, otherwise, we will be serving evil with the consequences of all known.
May God bless you.
