God allows everything
Thinking about our daily lives, we will find that there are always good and bad things that happen to us in some way depending on our way of living. We should understand that although God permits everything, we as believers know, in some way, what His designs and desires are and thus we can live as He wants us to. It’s not an easy goal to achieve by walking as a Christian, since we know He is our absolute sovereign. Furthermore, our bodies are mortal and always exposed to hazards and vicissitudes, with the weakness and pain that comes with it. However, we have a Spirit that always flies free with God, and we can reach communion with Christ, making us very different from an atheist or a nonbeliever.
A believer with problems, even if they are distressing or serious, must be aware that God never abandons us. “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 ESV
Life has surrounded us with weaknesses but Christ has surrounded us with Glory. Weaknesses are our own, and as the years pass, our bodies weaken physically, while glory always belongs to God. We depend absolutely on Him for the strength and growth of our souls. Many wonder, “Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?” To understand the answer, you must be a believer, since those who don’t believe in God and don’t have faith will never understand. This world is not our end because we with our Father have another perspective that is eternal.
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28 ESV.
The Creator knew that human beings abusing their freedom would reach the point where they deserved to be destroyed, but his love for us is so enormous that he decided to recover all those lost in evil by sending Jesus so that they would be regenerated in his image. For this reason, those who walk in his footsteps, called by the Gospel, will receive the love of God the Father in their hearts and will be saved by their faith.
The bad things that happen to good people also equip them to live a deeper ministry, knowing that He will comfort us in our tribulations and that our prayers will never be in vain because Jesus is not alien to our pain.
“For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are frree, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God.”
1 Peter 2:15-16 ESV.
May God bless you.
