Awareness
It is evident that “Artificial Intelligence” means a remarkable achievement in science. It is also radically transforming society by enabling significant advancements in medicine, technology, education, and more. Many jobs that are normally carried out by people are today being carried out by “robots” thanks to the use of that intelligence. However, this scientific and technological achievement, thank God, will never be able to generate something that needs consciousness to be carried out, because conscience is only typical of the humans that God created in his opportunity. Thanks to our spirit we can have consciousness. Consciousness is a property of the human being, and thanks to it we can intimately recognize what is good and what is evil. We as believers know very well what is good and what is bad for God, because that is revealed in the Sacred Scriptures.
Our conscience is illuminated by the Holy Spirit, and Christ purifies it when we serve Him with a pure conscience. The apostle Paul gives us the example when he tells the Romans: “I am speaking the truth in Christ — I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit.” Romans 9:1 ESV
If we analyze society in general, we can easily notice that there is a lot of unconsciousness in it, and there are many facts that demonstrate disobedience to God, because there is no full awareness of what is good or what is evil. In reality, the topic is very broad because historically it has been that way. Since humanity began to organize itself into tribes, towns, nations and countries, it had leaders who thought it was necessary to have laws and regulations that dictate what is right or wrong. The greatest difficulty is in the preparation and thoughts of these leaders. Everything since then comes down to the countless ramifications that exist between beliefs and morality. Religion has been very important since then.
As Christians, it is, therefore, vital to be aware of what God wants from us, because behind it there is a morality. If our conscience does not take into account, or does not know the principles and teachings bequeathed by Jesus Christ, we can hardly say that “we have been born again.” Jesus talking with Nicodemus, Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old?” John 3:4a ESV and He answers: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, “You must be born again.” John 3:5-7 ESV
If there is no awareness that we have been born again, we will be in trouble, since there will be palpable disobedience. “For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.” Romans 2:12-13 ESV
Paul says in Acts: “So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man.” Acts 24:16 ESV
May God bless you.
