Are you a fixer?
Have you been tring to fix your problems on your own? Are you trying to fix other people?
Do we pray about our situations, but then try to fix the problems on our own?
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
The key word in this verse is “trust.” When we truly trust God, we let go of our agenda or our way of solving the situation. We give the problems to Him and believe that He will take care of us.
God desires for us to seek Him and trust Him fully that He can and will answer our prayers, which includes allowing Him full reign. He does not need our help! I’ve learned over the years that He knows much more than me and can solve my problems in a better way. Thankfully our Heavenly Father sees the big picture that we don’t see. He always answers with what’s best for us, and with perfect timing.
“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
Fixers are worriers! If you’re worrying about a certain matter and trying to decide what to do, then you’re not trusting God. God desires for us to let go and cast our worries, doubts, and fears at the foot of the cross. Jesus died that we could live confident, faithful, peaceful, and loving lives.
“When you don’t know what to do, don’t do.”
If you’re not sure of the right answer or decision to make, I encourage you to put your brakes on and wait on God. The waiting period will be your time of trust and faith.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” ((Romans 12:2)
Friends, we shouldn’t approach matters the way the world does. We shouldn’t try to solve problems and situations the way the world does. We are “not of this world.” Therefore, we are called to pray about everything with faith in trust in Jesus. Praying in faith with a thankful heart gets results!
“Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.” (Psalm 55:22)
We’ve all been guilty of taking matters into our own hands. It’s our human nature to want to step in and fix our situations.
Thank God for His grace and mercy when we refuse to listen to Him and do things our way which usually ends up in a big mess.
Life is a choice and we should always choose to trust God in all matters.
He loves us and will lead and guide our every step, if we’ll allow Him to.
Prayer changes everything, including our desire to be a fixer.
Jesus is the answer! Jesus is your answer!
