Contaminated
We are not only living in a contaminated environment, but in our minds also. The environment, ecologically speaking, has been suffering in a progressive way since the Industrial Revolution until today resulting in global warming. This deterioration will continue because there are created interests that are destroying the earth and profiting from these issues. In our minds there is another kind of contamination that it is destroying a way of thinking and attacking the church as a human institution. This destruction is delicate but unequivocal, sometimes with severe emotional damages.
We live in an ever growing invasion of our private lives because of unlimited media. Virtually all media is slowly, and sometimes not so slowly, showing dirty information with violence, vulgarity, pornography, and showing images that touch our emotions. Many shows are popular with their dirty and immoral content.
I can say that fifty years ago we were different and healthier in some ways. Some symptoms of bad things began to be manifested in the last twenty years. It came the digital revolution and, in many fields of science and medicine, it has been wonderful. However, the devil has many new and efficient tools also. I would say that in the spiritual realm the wonders of technology brought contamination to the fountains of clear water and making it more difficult for new generations to feel the Holy Spirit. It is very difficult to have a clean heart because of the emotional contamination that exists everywhere.
It is urgent to reveal Jesus’ message regarding recycling dirty waters making them clear and pure to this world. “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8 ESV) A contaminated heart could be washed and purified left to the Holy Spirit. Too much noise in the environment prevents us from hearing God’s voice in our interior. When we are clean, our Lord can give messages in our dreams, visions or other supernatural manifestations, and it is necessary to be able to discern God’s directions. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)
This society, now more than ever, needs to not ignore the pure fountain of the Holy Spirit. Politicians try to patch holes and uneven places in the road. But, some of them make the holes bigger and deeper, sowing terror when we all need is peace. As a matter of fact, few want to be close to Jesus and clear the emotional contamination that invades us. Nobody wants to be part of the vine and produce good fruit. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for part from me you can do nothing.” By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” (John 15:5 and 8 ESV)
May God bless you.
