Choosing to be thankful
“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1)
“Give thanks in all circumstances; this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Being thankful is important if we desire to live a full, happy life. Honestly, most of us desire to be happy. Have you noticed that if you’re around negativity too long, it will begin to affect you?
That’s why it’s important that we pray and worship daily with a thankful heart. The closer we become to God, the happier we will become. Here’s a revelation to some: God is love and full of joy! If we desire to be like Jesus, we need to fill our minds with His Word that can transform us into His image and fill us with His joy. It should begin with thankfulness.
Thankful and giving people are happy people. When we begin to thank God for all our many blessings, He will fill us with His joy!
“Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and His wonderful deeds for mankind, for He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.” (Psalm 107: 8-9)
God’s will for us is to be happy and full of His joy.
“The joy of the Lord is my strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)
Friends, there is no true happiness and joy outside of Jesus. Yes, there are temporary highs of happiness when we purchase items we’ve wanted, etc. But that happiness is superficial and temporary. There is no real joy and happiness outside Jesus! None!
“Only Jesus can satisfy our soul..”
“I will give thanks to the Lord because of His righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High,” (Psalm 7:17)
“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” (Psalm 9:1)
We should be thankful each day, Maybe you feel as if your world has turned upside down and it couldn’t get any worse. You don’t have to give thanks for the pain and suffering, but instead give Him thanks that He is with you each step and will not forsake you!
Jesus calmed the storm on the sea, therefore He can calm your storm also! He’s a miracle working God! Let’s choose to be thankful for what He has done, is doing, and will do in our lives.
Do you need a miracle in your life? If so, begin thanking Him for answered prayer!
Trust and believe Him!
Jesus is the answer! Jesus is your answer! Always!
Give Him thanks. He loves you!
