Our Eternal Life
Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ is a Christian, and spiritually should be different from the people of the world who ignore God and Jesus His only Son. Without actually believing you know very little about God and what eternal life means, it is time that you decide to change your habits. You need to have a continuous intimate relationship with God and thus realize that you have eternal life. That relationship implies prayer, learning from the Holy Scriptures and applying what you have learned in your daily life bearing witness to it. Love becomes the center of your life by loving God above all things, loving others and loving yourself. You come to have faith believing that the messages inspired by God written in the Bible, are true and you are willing to carry them out in your life being obedient, just and merciful to others.
Eternal life has been revealed in Jesus Christ. It could not be given to believers unless Christ spoke with majesty, as one and equal with the Father. Our duty is to glorify Christ and thus demonstrate giving testimony of our interest in Him, because eternal life is a gift from God.
Let’s see what Christ’s intercessory prayer points out: “And this is eternal life, that they know You the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3 ESV.
As sinners, our path to eternal life is to have the will to know more and more about God, and thus come to enjoy holiness and feel the happiness of the redeemed. Happiness is especially the Glory of Christ and that of His Father, which was the joy of Him, for which He endured the cross and despised the shame that this meant in those times.
Knowing more about God implies that our lives will change positively, and that more and more good words will gradually come out of us as a result of our good intentions, guided by the Holy Spirit. Let us not forget that the Holy Spirit gives us enough wisdom to treat and respect others with good manners, and that there will be no room for the arrogance that many in this world show.
In our life there is no room for hatred or contempt for anyone, only the forgiveness that God always gives us. Because Jesus Christ gave His life so that our sins could be forgiven and so that we could enjoy eternal life. Let us avoid foolish and vain questions that in reality lead to nothing good, rather they lead to clear antagonism to God.
Eternal life is presented to us as a promise, that although we do not deserve it, it will be present thanks to our Christian faith and the Holy Spirit that we have received. It dwells in each one of us. and fills us with hope of that life, “in hope of eternal life, which God, who never lies, promised before the ages began.” Titus 1:2 ESV
May God bless you.
