Integrity is an adjective that means qualities of honesty, rectitude and good principles to live that a person can have. So we know the leaders who govern makes us meditate and recognize that there are many who are not upright in their actions. The problem is accentuated for the nation when they have told the society that chooses them, that they are Christians. “O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend;” Psalm 15:1-3 ESV
When we analyze the news we see that there are reasons why we should worry about those who govern. “I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you O Lord, I will make music. I will ponder the way that is blameless. Oh when will you come to me? I will walk with integrity of heart within my house; I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me. A perverse heart shall be far from me; I will know nothing of evil. Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly I will destroy. Whoever has a haughty look an arrogant heart I will not endure.” Psalm 101:1-15 ESV
As Christians we should not be passionate about politicians whose behaviors are not honoring God when they insult with blasphemy those who do not think like them. Unbridled language should not be accepted by anyone who was elected to represent and govern at whatever level. “For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3: 16-18 ESV
We all have areas in which we need to work to become whole. If we recognize that we have failed, it will be time for repentance and a return to the path indicated by God. These paths are the Christian principles inspired by God and written in the Holy Scriptures for our study, understanding and action. Without forgetting that obedience to God is important and that in order to obey we need a self-discipline that keeps us from making wrong decisions in the future. It is never too late to return to the path that leads to the Kingdom of God where there is integrity.
“In connection with ourselves, let us face life as it is, not as we feel it ought to be, for it never will be what ought to be until the kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ.” Oswald Chambers.
May God bless you.
