Congrats Veterans
Thanksgiving Dinner was served at Midway M. B. Church immediately after service. Thanks to the many people who helped make Thanksgiving Dinner a success. First to the Kitchen Committee made up of Delie Shepard, Annie Stowers, Alice McCarter, Violet Peavy and Jawaun Ross who worked tirelessly for several days preparing fresh food for this Thanksgiving Dinner.
The menu consisted of turnip greens donated by Joseph and Vivian Sanders. Collard greens were purchased from Dwight Beamon and donated by Anewar Stowers. The string beans were donated by Brenda Nickols. The vegetable cooking was donated by Deacon Wayne Cox and Wayne Townsend
The corn casserole ingredients were donated by Delie Shepard and prepared by Annie Stowers. The salads were donated by Sylvia Kennedy and Constance McClendon. The deserts were donated by Dr. Lorraine Dozier, Patty Odom, Annie Stowers Carol Stowers, Violet Peavy and Delie Shepard. Cornbread Muffins were prepared by Delie Shepard and the ingredients were donated by Chelsey McClendon and Cadessica McClendon. Cornbread with chicken dressing was prepared by Delie Shepard and Annie Stowers. The ingredients were donated by Tam Banks, Sollie Smith and Delie Shepard. Cranberry Sauce was donated by Darrell and Cassandra Stowers.
Annie Stowers along with Anewar Stowers carved the ham and the turkey. Deacon D’Arcy Stowers made sure the spiral cut ham and the Popeye’s turkey were at the church on time.
Sweet tea was prepared by the Kitchen committee. Bottle drinks were donated by Oudie McClendon, Courtney McClendon, Dan McClendon, Tom Wilson, Thomas Smith, and Jody Matheney.
Midway M. B. Church will have a Praise and Paint from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on November 23, 2024. You must register. You can register online.

Sympathy to the Anderson Family in the passing of Billy Anderson of Georgia. His service was Saturday. Mapp Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
