Midway M. B. Church will celebrate its First Black Historical Banquet on February 22, at 6:00 pm. There are many far and near who have been contacted to be a part of this historical program. If you or your ancestors were born in Midway, married someone from Midway or work for the good of Midway please attend this Banquet. Did you know: Midway had a teacher with a Specialist Degree who could read and write Braille. Taught the Visually Handicaped for years at the School for the Blind and Lanier High School. Obtained her Specialist Degree from Peabody University. Who owned the original grocery stores in Midway? Who were the original owners of B & H Midway Center? Who were the three major concrete finishers from Midway? Two of these three lost their lives on September 12, 1957. Who were the two that lost their lives? Who was the first woman who could play a piano at church and she played by ear not by musical notes? Who is a wine maker from Midway? Who was the first educated Sunday School teacher?
