Easter Services
Easter Sunday Service April 20, 2025 will be at the regular time. Breakfast at 8:15am; Sunday School at 9:00 am and Morning Service at 10:30am. Chelsey McClendon is in charge of the Easter Program.
Friday Night, Good Friday, April 19, 2025 the pastor, Rev. Wesley Griffin will deliver the message at Harmony M. B. Church one night revival. Rev. Bernard Kennedy is the pastor.
Tuesday, April 22, 2025. The pastor, Rev. Wesley Griffin will deliver the message at Balucta Baptist Church at 7:15 pm.
Tuesday, April 29, 2025 the pastor will deliver the message at Cedar Grove, M. B. Church at 7:00 pm. Rev. Tevin Nickols is the pastor.
Sympathy to the Brantley family in the passing of Raymond Earl “Beetle Juice” Brantley. His Homegoing Celebration and Repast was held at his home in Steele. His arrangements were entrusted to Mapp Funeral Home.
Sympathy to the Fields family in the passing of Ms. Dorcas Lavone Fields (April 17, 1975 – April 6, 2025). Her Celebration of Life was last Friday at Mapp Funeral Home Chapel. Her arrangements were entrusted to Mapp Funeral Home.
Dorcas is preceded in death: by her husband, Jack Charles Fields; her mother, Birnethia Brantley; her brother Orlando Tooks; and one sister, Tracy Harrison.
She is survived by: her father, Willie Ray Tooks; one daughter, Jacqulyn Fields; one son, Dominick Fields; one granddaughter, Shiloh Fields; one brother Willy (JB) Harrison, two sisters, Jennifer Odom Oyadeyi (Babatunde), and Shemell Harrison. A host of nieces and nephews.
Dorcas is remembered for her outgoing, and loving personality. A firecracker if you will.
Congratulations to Shemell Harrison and Wayne Beamon on their upcoming nuptials.
Sympathy to the Stribling and Hoye families in the passing of Sammie V. Hoye. Her service was last Saturday at Rising Chapel M. B. Church in Goodhope, MS. Her service was entrusted to Whitehead Funeral and Cremation Services of Carthage, Mississippi.
Leake County knew her as a beautiful lady, that loved her family, especially her husband (father of her two children, teacher, principal and lastly the retired educator, farmer and Leake County School board member, Sammy Hoye. She had fought a good fight, but God called her home making her transition into glory, to give her peace and rest.
