Father’s Day Festivities
Midway M. B. Church celebrated Father’s Day with a program that was chaired by Merrissa Choice and a luncheon that was chaired y the Kitchen Committee. The Father’s Day Program was wonderful. The Fellowship Hall tables was decorated by different ladies in the church. The array was really beautiful. The food was really good. They love southern fried chicken.
The Century Family Reunion will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana. The scheduled dates are June 27-29, 2024. The hotel is The Marriot Indianapolis East, phone number is 317-268-8733. From Nashville, Tennessee I plan on motoring on to St. Cloud, Minnesota to see my sons and grandchildren. Xhavier is in summer school for 4 weeks. He is also taking Piano lessons this summer. He is enthused about that. Alexiah will start her time back in school this fall as a junior and will also start taking college courses. She plans on taking the high school courses along with the junior college courses. She plans on getting her high school diploma along with her junior college AA degree at the same time. The state is paying for her college courses.
Lone Pilgrim District Congress of Christian Education was held at Bethlehem M. B. Church with its Lena, MS address. The different speaker each night in the youth department were: Monday Night was Rev. Eric Jones of Morton, Tuesday Night was Rev. Marcus Mann of Carthage: Wednesday Night was Marlo Perry of Buffalo, New York; and Thursday Night was Robert Young of Arlington, Texas.
The Lone Pilgrim District Congress of Christian Education Youth Department held a Wedding of Roses Pageant. Crowned 1st place in the Wedding of Roses Pageant was, Ahzani Crowell of Providence M. B. Church. Her escort was Channing Boatman. His parent was Elizabeth Wells. His hobby is playing games on his tablet. The second-place runner up was Kynzlee Jalani Weathers who was escorted by Kayson Coleman of Truelight M. B. Church.
Lone Pilgrim District congress of Christian Education Youth Department Honored the veterans, no matter the branch with a plaque and honorian from the Bank of Forest. Those veterans listed by their church were: Midway M. B. Church veterans were, Thomas Wilson, LaBoris Ross, Wayne Williams, Jody Matheny, Kenya Williams, Jerry McBeath, B. H. Kennedy, Johnathan Cole, Jeremy McBeath, and Dean McClendon. St. Mark M. B. Church veteran was Rev. Jermeka Johnson. Truelight M. B. Church Veterans were, Homer Mathney, James Barton, Jr., George Fairley, Davis Gill, Michael Alexander, Dora Austin, Marvin Alexander, Leroy Barnes, W. B. Jones, Jeffery Edward, and Ray Shoemaker. Little Mountain M. B. Church veteran was Levell Cager. Veterans for Providence M. B. Church were, Author Evans, Daryl Carter, Rev. Robert Denmark, Sam Evans, Sonya McBeath and Shrimford Hardney. Veterans for Bethlehem M. B. Church were, Rev. Eric Jones, J. C. Beamon, Earnest Beamon, Jamie Hutchins, Andrew Beamon and Jarvis Brown. Veterans for Harmony M. B. Church were. Rev. Harold B. Kennedy, Wilber Gardner, Charles Ealy, Jamaal Russell, Jaroderick Townsend, James Morgan, Larry Young, Stephanie Brooks, Denise Townsend, Frederick Gardner and James Armon.
Sympathy to the Lee family in the passing of Beulah Mae Lee (1932 – 2025, 93 years old). Her service was last Wednesday at New Zion M. B. Church on Highway 18 in Bay Springs, MS. Her interment was in the church cemetery. Her arrangements were entrusted to Mapp Funeral Home.
