Winter Board Meeting
I hope everyone enjoyed Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. The courthouse was closed and everyone who worked at the courthouse and Bank of Forest was off. There were many activities celebrated around that particular holiday.
Thursday I will tell myself Happy Birthday. So glad the Lord is giving me more time to enjoy his grace and mercy.
Midway M. B. Church will celebrate its final week of Black History during regular Service this Sunday. Each week a different auxiliary of the church has prepared some Celebration Headlines. The headlines have been informative and enlightening.
The East Mississippi Baptist State Convention Annual Mid – Winter Board Meeting will be held February 27 and 28, 2026. The Lone Pilgrim District will host the Board Meeting at Truelight M. B. Church. Rev. Dr. Larry Weathers is the Host pastor. Friday evening registration starts at 5:00 pm. Service starts at 7:00 pm. Saturday Morning registration starts at 7:30 am. Board Meeting starts at 8:30 am. Rev. Dr. Ecclesiastes Goodwin is the President. Rev. Dr. Johnny Barnes is the Host Moderator. Rev. Dr. Robert McCallum is the Pastors and Ministers Facilitator. He is the Priestley Chapel Baptist Church pastor of Canton, MS. Rev. Dr. Reginald Buckley is Friday Night Guest Speaker. He is the pastor of Cade Chapel M. B. Church in Jackson, MS. He is also the President of General MS Baptist State Convention, Inc. Come and enjoy the Mid-Winter Board Meeting.
Sympathy to the Murrell and Watkins Families in the passing of George E. Watkins, Jr. (January 11, 1965 – February 5, 2026). His service was last Saturday at Little Rock M. B. Church. Final arrangements were entrusted to Evans Memorial Funeral Home.
Sympathy to the Dees and Evers Families in the passing of Ella Bernice Dees Evers “Aunt Bee” (July 25, 1928 – February 8, 2026. Her service was last Saturday at Sylvester United Methodist Church. Her interment was in the church cemetery. Her arrangements were entrusted to Mapp Funeral Home.
