Please continue to keep Carolyn Knowles who is District 2 Election Commissioner in your prayers. She is in ICU at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She took a turn for worse, but now according to her daughter, Heather, she is doing some better. She was transferred back to Jackson last Thursday late evening.
Prayers are still going out for Jr. Lewis. He is at home recovering after several surgeries. Remember to keep him and his wife Vivian in your prayers.

Last week Cynthia Lewis Jonson was at the Retiree Fun and Fellowship held each week at Midway M. B. Church Fellowship Hall on Monday at 1:00 p.m. She talked about quilting and how to piece a quilt. Currently the group will be motoring to Walnut Grove to Sister Henson’s Quilting Collection on Monday April 10. Leaving the church at 1:00 p.m. on the church bus. Invite a friend to come and join.
Midway M. B. Church Easter breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday Morning. Followed by Sunday School at 9:00 a.m. Continuing with the Easter Program then Sunday Service. We send each Sunday morning a breakfast plate to the seniors and shut ins in the community. Easter Sunday they will also get a dinner plate consisting of Red Beans with smoked sausage over a bed of rice, homemade dinner rolls and a slice of pound cake. Just a little enjoyment from the church and kitchen committee. If any other senior or member wants a take-out dinner plate contact Annie Stowers by Friday no later than 6:00 p.m. Your Easter take-out plate will be ready by Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. for pick up.
Lone Pilgrim District will have their upcoming Young people pageant scheduled for June 13, 2023 at Providence M. B. Church. Asking each of the Lone Pilgrim District churches to contact Delie Shepard whose number is at the bottom of the article to let the district know of their participation.
Sympathy to the Thames family in the passing of Justice Thames, Sr. He was eulogized on last Saturday at Midway M. B. Church in Decatur. Rev. Larry Reed Officiated. Rev. Melvin Lyles is the pastor. Mapp funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
Sympathy to the Darby Family in the passing of Frankie Darby, Jr. His Service will be this Saturday at Little Rock M. B. Church at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Smith Butler will do the eulogy. Rev. Sheldon Thomas is the pastor.
Loving his memories: Frankie leaves four girls, Linda Fleming, Brenda Darby, Earnice Smith all of Forest and Vicky Harrington of Brandon; two sons Frankie Lee Darby of Lake and Christopher Darby of Monroe, LA; three sisters Helen Gray of Kankakee, IL, Geneva Jones of Kalamazoo, MI, and Patricia Carter of Dixon, MS; one brother Alfred Ray Darby of Forest.
We take this time to offer our sympathy to the Major and Rush family. The late, Dona Rush, 71, of Belzoni, MS, transitioned on March 25, 2023 at St Dominic Hospital, Jackson, MS. Her service will be Saturday April 8, 2023 in Belzoni, MS. Smith Funeral Home of Belzoni is entrusted with the arrangements. Dona was my classmate at North Scott High School back in 1967. Rest on my fellow classmate. God gave you your wings to fly up high in the sky.
