Go cast a ballot
Everyone is asked to go out and vote for the candidate of their choice on August 8. This is a Primary Party Election. In this election you vote for the candidate in one or the other party. You cannot cross party lines in this election voting process.
When you walk into a precinct look on the wall there will be sample ballots. Chose the party ballot you want and vote at that table. In the run-off you will have to vote for the same party you voted for on August 8.
You may vote absentee Monday – Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. and on August 5th from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon. Go cast your ballot so you can get a “I Voted Sticker”.
Midway M. B. Church sponsored a Back to School Bash for the children. The students had to fill out attendance criteria online. They met at church in the Fellowship Hall last Saturday and got Back to School backpacks and other school related materials. Thank you Merrisa for your diligence.
Mr. Dewayne Cox was installed as Deacon Dewayne Cox last Sunday at Midway M. B. Church. Congratulations Deacon Cox.
Congratulations to Jamie Patrick. Jamie threw out the first baseball at the Braves Stadium last Sunday in Jackson. Again, Congratulations to Jamie. Jamie is the daughter of Tamara Banks. She is the granddaughter of Pam Harper Banks and the late James Banks.
Rev. Wesley will celebrate his Anniversary at Midway M. B. Church on August 13, 2023. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the program.
Midway M. B. Church Friend and Family day will be August 20 during regular Service. Rev. Perry Fletcher will be the revival speaker on August 21, 22, and 23. Service will begin at 7:00 nightly. Everyone is invited to attend.
Rev. Wesley Griffin will be the guest speaker at the Midway Freewill Baptist Church Revival on September 25th at 7:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. Rev. Cory Bender is the pastor.
August 5, 2023 is the E. T. Hawkins Annual Class Reunion. This year it will be held at Reach One on One, Highway 501 South Forest.
Sympathy to the Battle Family in the passing of Veola Battle who was 98 years old. Her service was last Saturday in Memphis. She was brought home and her interment was last Sunday at Ebenezar Cemetery in Blossom Hill. She was Patty Ward Odom’s aunt.
Sympathy to the Harris family in the passing of Rose Mary Harris. Her service was last Saturday at Rose Hill M. B. Church in Union, MS. Her service was entrusted to Mapp Funeral Home.
Sympathy to the Lindsay family in the passing of Mr. Frederick Lindsay. His service was last Saturday at Concord Baptist Church. His arrangements were entrusted to Evans Memorial Funeral Home.
