A Wonderful Easter
Easter was wonderful at church. We had an appetizing breakfast, with bacon, smoke sausage, and patty sausage. We also had grits and boiled eggs and toast. We had mixed fresh fruit such as cantaloupe, honeydew mellow, pineapple, apples, strawberries, plums, bananas, white grapes and red grapes. All in all, breakfast was appetizing.
Sunday School was taught by Bro. Tom Wilson. During regular service, Rev. Tevin Nickols rendered a solo along with Sister Pam Banks and Sister Tam Banks. As part of the Easter Program Sister Pam Banks read the meaning of Resurrection Sunday with Jamie Patrick saying a speech and Hope Lewis Townsend’s son saying his speech. The Easter Program ended with Bailey saying her speech.
Culminating we had some older young men such as LaBoris Ross, Anewar Stowers, Jadaze Stowers, Cameron Jones and Chris McClendon hiding Easter Eggs and treats for the very young. The very young had a ball seeking and finding Easter eggs and treats.
Some Sunday visitors were Dr. Lorraine Dozier’s two daughters, Dr. Lanee Riley Johnson MD of Madison, specializing in Internal Medicine, and her husband Stephen Johnson, and Larissa Page of Hattiesburg, her husband Neil Page and their three children, Jordan Riley, a student at JSU who is also doing an internship at WLBT Television Station in Jackson, Joseph Page a student at University of Arkansas, on a Baseball scholarship and Daylan Page a student at Forest High School who is being scouted by all the juror universities in football and basketball. Daylan makes all of us look short.
At Lorraine’s house her sister Jennie Clay was there from Birmingham, with her two daughters, Zina Clay Cousin, of Madison and Regina Clay Harloff of Detroit, Michigan by way of driving her mother down from Birmingham. Jennie’s two granddaughter Elyse Clay Page and her husband E. Page of Birmingham and Devon Clay of Hattiesburg and her three young men, Issiah, August and 3 month old Joseph.
Nathalie Hernandez Shepard and her three children attended church with me on Easter Sunday, Alexiah Shepard, Xhavier Shepard in his Green Suit, vest and pants with a white shirt and his shoes. And lastly Miss Luniah Shepard in her pretty dress just walking everywhere she could get into.
Pam Banks whole family was at church, her daughter, Tam and her two daughters, Jamie and Kasiah, her son, Chaster, and his family was there. The Katherine McClendon Lewis family was at Easter Church Service, Kathy Beamon Johnson and her sons, Cynthia Johnson, Jackie Bobbitt and her children and grandchildren.
