Announcements: Those floats, Homecoming Court honorees, and all involved in the MHS Homecoming Parade theme for 2024 is Wizard of Oz. Put your creative ideas to work and make this the best ever celebration for our Panthers, coaches, administration, teachers, cheerleaders and band members. Parade date is Friday, September 27.
Latin Fest will be celebrated in Pearl at the Clyde Muse Convention Center, 515 Country Place, Pearl on Saturday, September 28 from 4-10 p.m.
Senior American Day at the Mississippi State Fair 2024 is October 9 beginning at 11:00 a.m. Outstanding entertainment will be provided by celebrity Ronnie McDowell. Vendors, breakfast, music and more will be highlights of the event.
Congratulations to: Those Scott County MHV Cluster Club members receiving Service Pins honoring their individual years of service to the MSU/Scott County Extension learning/service program for providing community, county and state needs. They are: 20 years-Dorothy Bradford, Bobbye Carter, Carolyn Macon, Ester Perry and Dorothy Strong; 5 years-Mary Loften, Cynthia Melton and Connie Wash. Keep up the good work, it means a great deal to those served. Pins were proudly presented by Josh Sutton of the Scott County Board of Supervisors.
To: Wes Compton and Trey Ladner on being selected 2024 Scott County 4-H Livestock Ambassadors. Both have been very active in developing cattle breeds and showing them in competition and Livestock Shows and have been outstanding leaders in various activities of the Scott County, district and state 4-H organization.
Prayers and concern for: Ann Ross of Westpoint (request of Frisky Roland), Pedro Herrera of Florida (uncle of Lizabeth Herrera), Roxie Laird, Bea Phillips, Jerry Harris and Frankie Moore continued concern for Rev. Justin White, Rev. Jeff Dalton and any athletes who were injured during the many football contests on all levels last week.

Travelin’, visitin’ and such: Following the MSU vs Florida game Frisky and Brian Roland drove to Tupelo where they visited their nephew/cousin Tim Roland his wife Stephanie and daughter Megan in their lovely home in the Saltilla community. Following that brief stay Tim and Stephanie treated Frisky and Brian to a delicious dinner outing at Harvey’s in Tupelo.
