Veteran’s Day event (continued) — student body officers Adalynn Arizmendi and Josseph Sontay-Romero. Also, City of Morton Mayor, Jimmy Steadman and Senator, Tyler McCaughn welcomed veterans and guests to the annual event. Speaker Chief Master Sargent of the 170 2nd Airwing, Mike McQueen gave an inspiring and informative message to the students, teachers, staff and our attending local veterans. A sincere note of appreciation to all who planned/participated in this important event.
Congratulations to: Janice White Williams on the celebration of her 62nd Birthday anniversary recently. Surrounded by family and friends who gathered at Roosevelt State Park on the lovely patio area and the upstairs class room. Personal best wishes, Janice from the entire Roland family. Travelin’, visitin’ and such: Morton MHV Club members stayed busy at several occasions during November. The club meeting was held at Morton Public Library with Sarah Strohm and members hosting the presentation of the agenda for the upcoming community service projects, served refreshments at Veteran’s Day event, attended the Scott County food treats and Christmas Ornament Swap Party at the Extension Service facility.
Frisky and Brian Roland enjoyed a drive down to Bay St. Louis for a visit with their son/brother Hal and his wife Bobbie Sue from Harvey, Louisiana and a family friend. Brad Anderson from Ocean Springs. While there they dined at the beautiful 200 Bay Street Restaurant. Making the outing especially pleasing, was the beautiful weather and safe travel.
Jimmy and Rebecca Farris report having an inspiring visit with several of her relatives and friends while attending the Harvest Festival at Sidon UMC in Leflore County. They enjoyed Children’s Services, great food treats and worship services complete with music and vocal solos.
