Congratulations to: The Lauris G. Sessums’ “First Responder” for the month of December is S. Neal Wailes, assistant Police Chief of Polkville. He was a retired full professor at Mississippi State University with a 33 year career of service there. Following completion of training requirements as a state certified law enforcement officer. He has 15 years in this capacity and is presently the Assistant Chief and certified Training Officer for theTown of Polkville. Honored as the “Officer of the Year” for Polkville gives inspiration for the Wash House Lauris G. Sessums sponsorship to choose Mr. Wailes.

Travelin’, visitin’ and such: Morton MHV Club members completed the 2025 year of Community Service by honoring the residents of the Hudspeth homes and staff members with a Christmas Party complete with BINGO, gifts, prizes, mini-cupcakes decorated for the holidays and beverages. Following this delightful event many extra gifts, needs and educational items were donated to the MS Care Center in Morton.
Spotted a report that the SSS (Sweet Sundays Sisters) Class of 1971 enjoyed dining at Mama Hammil’s and shopping at Jeanne’s. This very special group residing in our various communities and home towns were: Sheila Tate Bosarge, Brenda Creel, Nan H. Crosby, Nancy Horsley Jones, Pam B. Jones, Sue May, Bobbie Gail Knight Rogers and Jeanne Bradford Rowland.
