To: Those Scott County 4-H members winning honors at the 2026 Scott County Livestock Show. Hendrix Hurdle won 1st Place Showmanship in the 8-11year old category and John Christian Hollis’ Goat won Champion Goat Meat Doe and Supreme Overall Goat.

Travelin’, visitin’ and such: A large number of local residents and Business/Commercial representatives gathered for the 66th Annual Meeting of Morton Chamber of Commerce held at the Morton Activities Center at Farris Park. The event featured a delicious meal catered by Penn’s Restaurants and the presentation of many well deserved awards. 2025 Chamber Board President, Jimmy Brown opened the event with the Call to Order. Following remarks by Pam Holman, new Board President and Mayor Jimmy Steadman, more “fun” awards were given to unsuspecting members and the drawing for prizes by Pam Holman, Barbara McBride and Lisa Alford. Lisa Alford, Executive Director made an impressive appeal for “Goals for the Chamber’s Small Businesses” to thrive in Morton. Meeting adjourned by Pam Holman.
