In October Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Omicron Beta Omega Chapter of Meridian celebrated United Nations Day by highlighting the job of Mayor Nancy Chambers of Forest and the important role she has played in the city’s progress. Mayor Chambers is a pioneer in that she is the first female Mayor of the city.

Rogers indicted for Sexual Exploitation of a Child

Randy O. Rogers, 43, of Walnut Grove was indicted for Sexual Exploitation of a Child by the Scott County grand jury on July 22.
Rogers is also facing charges of Statutory Rape and Sexual Battery on a minor in Leake County, but has not been indicted.
