Mississippi Blood Services (MBS) is partnering with nationally known jewelry retailer Kendra Scott for a RESCUE Program Contribution Day on Tuesday, February 10, benefiting the Rural Emergency Services Care, blood Utilization and Survival (RESCUE) Program which began here in Scott County.
The RESCUE Program is an innovative collaboration between Mississippi Blood Services, Paladin Emergency Service Consulting, Magnolia Ambulance, local emergency responders, and community partners. Organized in September 2024, the program equipped ambulances in rural communities — where access to trauma care is limited and rates of traumatic injuries are high — with lifesaving prehospital blood products. In just over a year, the program has dramatically impacted rural communities and received statewide recognition for its lifesaving treatments. Since its launch, the RESCUE Program has served rural counties including Leake, Noxubee, Scott, Sharkey/Issaquena, and Winston, using 40 units of blood in emergency transfusions.
To support this ongoing initiative, Kendra Scott will donate 20% of all sales made February 10–11 both online at www.kendrascott.com and in-store at the Highland Village location in Jackson. Shoppers are encouraged to use the promo code GIVEBACK-LFHIZ when shopping online or mention the RESCUE Program at checkout in-store to ensure their purchase is applied toward the contribution. Funds raised will directly support the RESCUE Program’s mission to deliver lifesaving blood to rural communities during times of trauma.
In addition to shopping for a cause, Mississippi Blood Services is launching its annual Valentine’s Day blood donation promotion on the same day. All donors who give blood at one of MBS’s three donation centers — Flowood, Cleveland, or Oxford — will receive a Valentine’s Day blood donor T-shirt designed by Mississippi’s nationally recognized editorial cartoonist and author, Marshall Ramsey. (Offer good while supplies last.)
