The Nation's Weather for Monday, January 31, 2022
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
The two main weather features across the lower 48 tomorrow
are a storm down in Texas and a snowstorm across the
northern Plains. The heavy rain and storm in Texas can
impact big cities such as Houston and Dallas but the
chances for widespread severe weather from this storm is
low. There could be isolated wind and hail damage but the
main threat will be heavy rain leading to flooding. Then in
the North there will be a swath of snow from North Dakota
into Idaho and Montana. The leading edge of this there can
be some freezing rain, mainly along the North Dakota and
Minnesota border. There will be rain and snow in the
Northwest as well. The snow from that will mostly be in the
higher elevations. Strong winds can also be expected in
Wyoming and Montana from the storm too.
