NATIONAL SUMMARY
The risk for severe thunderstorms will continue tomorrow as
a storm progresses eastward, with intense downpours,
damaging wind gusts, hail and even some tornadoes possible
from far eastern Oklahoma to southern Minnesota and
Wisconsin, and eastward at night toward cities such as
Chicago and Indianapolis. In the center of the area, strong
winds will develop between that storm and very strong high
pressure in Canada, with gusts over 40 mph from the Upper
Peninsula of Michigan to the southern Plains and into the
Front Range of Colorado. Showers stretch across the northern
Plains as well, and spotty afternoon thunderstorms will dot
the mid-Atlantic. Widely separated showers are expected in
western Washington. Most other locations are expected to
remain largely dry.
