NATIONAL SUMMARY
A storm will spread showers and thunderstorms, some severe,
from the Great Lakes to the central Plains tomorrow.
Thunderstorms from Wisconsin to Oklahoma may bring localized
damaging wind gusts, hail and flooding downpours. There can
be a tornado or two in Wisconsin and Illinois. Elsewhere, it
will be cool and mainly dry across the Northeast with a
spotty afternoon shower in New England. In the southern
Plains it will be hot. Farther to the east, in the Southeast
it will be warm and humid. An afternoon thunderstorm can
rumble along the Gulf coast, in the Appalachian Mountains
and in Florida. Meanwhile, it will be dry and comfortable
across the West with a spotty thundershower in the high
terrain of the northern Rockies. There can be hazy sunshine
as a result of smoke from nearby wildfires.
