NATIONAL SUMMARY
Hurricane Ian will continue to approach the western coast of
Florida tomorrow with very heavy rainfall and strong winds
spreading northward throughout the day. By evening,
hurricane conditions are likely along a portion of the
coast, with tropical storm-force winds encompassing a larger
portion of the state. As winds push onshore, a storm surge
is likely to develop, leading to major flooding along the
coast, with damaging winds and flooding rainfall as well. In
the Northeast, clouds and showers will continue in the area,
with heavier rainfall possible along the coast of Lake Erie.
A new storm system will move into the Pacific Northwest,
bringing periods of rain along with a cooldown.
