Be Available
Good Morning/Evening!
Monday morning, I was asked a question, “How are you...Really?” and it got me to thinking about the really part. How often do we ask people the first part (how are you)? Is it just a casual greeting or do we really want to know? And on the other side, do we answer truthfully, or just say I’m good, fine or well, because we don’t want to burden anyone with our true feelings. Maybe we don’t think they really care so we push the real stuff down and answer with the standard “I’m good, how are you?” With the confusing, sad, unexpected evil things going on in the world nowadays, maybe we should be optimistic when someone asks us that question and trust that God put there for us to say truthfully how we are doing. There are times we all need a listening ear and a compassionate heart to hear us. God is a provider and He knows when we need an earthly angel to give release of building pressure. I have had many uplifting conversations with people I didn’t know or probably never see again, where we shared our life’s struggles and victories! Yes in familiar places....Walmart, CVS, Vowell’s; and at the end of the meeting we smiled, sometimes hugged and went about our day feeling blessed from God! Be available when you ask the next person “How are you doing?” they may have a need to talk and their story may end up helping you!
