Margie N. Bennett, age 82, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Woodland Court, in Newton, MS. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 2, 2023, from 1:30 PM until 2:50 PM at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Services took place at 3:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Goodhope Baptist Cemetery in Lake, MS. Bro. Bobby Boyles officiated under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Margie was born to Robert Alexander and Nola D. Posey on January 29, 1941, in Newton County, MS. She has lived in Lake, MS for the past seventy-four years. Margie loved gardening and she loved her flowers. She was a member of Sand Ridge Baptist Church.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Bennett; parents, Robert and Nola Alexander; brother, Bobby Alexander; three sisters, Patricia Dunaway, Sue Harrison and Helen Alexander and a daughter-in-law, Glenda Bennett. She is survived by three sons, Danny Bennett (Cindy) of Decatur, MS, Harold Bennett (Denise) of Lake, MS and Wayne Bennett of Lake, MS; brother, Carleton Ray Alexander of Philadelphia, MS; four grandchildren, Leann Little (Luke), Kevin Bennett, Hope Bennett and Tyler Bennett; four great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Kevin Bennett, Scott Bennett, Jim Bennett, Luke Little, Mark Kelly and Daulton Berrett. Honorary pallbearer was Teddy Ray Bennett.
