Samuel Dale Ellis, 80 of Walnut Grove, MS passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023. He was born Sunday, March 15, 1942 in Leake County, Mississippi.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 11:00 until 1:00 at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Forest, MS (504 Airport Road, Forest, MS 39074). Funeral services immediately followed in the Chapel. Burial took place at Damascus Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Walnut Grove, Mississippi. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Forest was in charge of arrangements. 601-469-1941
Mr. Ellis was a lifelong resident of Leake County. He was a welder by trade and was a Vietnam Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Ellis; mother, Leona Chappell Ellis; and sister, Sarah Cole.
Survivors include his son, Dale Ellis (Stephanie); grandson, Cortland Ellis; granddaughter, Sophia Ellis; his niece Sylvia Adams; and sisters-in-law Carolyn Richardson and Jayne Haralson.
Pallbearers were Cortland Ellis, Jimmy Clyde Bradford, Marcus Ellis, Charles Russell, Barry Ellis, and Doyle Allen.
