Alice Nadine Herron

Alice Nadine Herron, 85, of Forest, Mississippi, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at her home. She was born Thursday, October 19, 1933 in Morton, Mississippi.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home-Forest. Funeral Services were at 12:00 PM in the chapel. Burial was in Homewood Methodist Church Cemetery. Bro. Andy Boles officiated. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Forest was in charge of arrangements. Alice served as Election Commissioner for 47 years in Scott County and managed the Davidson Marble and Granite Works office in Forest. She was an avid reader who often said, “I’ve traveled around the world and never left my bed.” Alice loved all of her family very much.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Herron, Jr.; her parents, E. B. and Eunice Livingston; her son, Ed Herron; her granddaughter, Melissa F. Reid.

Survivors include her children, Faye Coward (Roy), Linda Herron, John Herron, and Eric Herron (Candie); grandchildren, Dana Myatt (Kenneth) and Marley Reid (James); great-grandchildren, Devin Myatt, Payne Myatt, Lexie Myatt, Jennie Frith, Gauge Parker, Jayden Herron, Kayden Herron, Melissa Reid, and Goldie Reid.

Pallbearers were Matthew Perritt, Ryan Butler, John Anderson, Steven Crotwell, James Griffin, and Brock Pope.

Honorary pallbearers were the ladies at the Forest Library.
