Ann Risher Johnson

Ann Risher Johnson, age 74, a resident of the Homewood community, died Thursday,  November 14, 2019.

Funeral services were conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019, at the chapel of the Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with Rev. Milton Koon officiating.    Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m until the service time at 1:00 at the funeral home.  Graveside services were not held, the family remained to visit with friends. The final resting place is in the Homewood Methodist Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnson was born  on Monday, April 2, 1945, in Morton, MS to her parents, Henry Risher and Evelyn Moorehead Risher.  She had lived in this area all her life. She retired from the office of the U.S. Forest Service (USDA) in 2011. She was a member of the Homewood United Methodist Church. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Cheryl Marler, and brothers, John Risher and Pete Risher.

Survivors include her  husband of  17 years, Kenneth Johnson, two daughters, Christa Boykin Powell and Carrie Lea Rogers (Trey) all of Forest. Three sisters, Ruth Weems, Gaynell Countryman both of Forest, and Pam Pope (Randy) of  Cash, two brothers, Henry  “Bubba” Risher (Billie Faye) of Pulaski and  Larry Risher of Forest. She also leaves behind three grandchildren; Chandler Powell, Payton Rogers, and Alana Rogers.

Pallbearers were Chandler Powell, Payton Rogers, Lynn Risher, Alan Powell, Ronnie Risher, and Trey Rogers.

In lieu of flowers,  gifts may be made to the Homewood Methodist Church 8720 Hwy. 35 South  Forest, MS 39074.
