Connie Phillips, age 65, a resident of Sebastopol, MS died Saturday, December 29, 2018 in an automobile accident that claimed her life and the life of her granddaughter, Madison “Madi” McDill.
Connie was a beacon of warmth, joy and love for all who enjoyed the gift of meeting her. She took pride in her friends and family and always offered an uplifting word. From the countless children she had a hand of raising to the grandbabies she loved to spoil, she made life better for them all and they all hold dear to those memories of Momma, Nana, Aunt Connie and Ms. Connie. She was one of the best southern cooks known to those who loved her and was meticulous about a clean house and squeaky clean, always just-swept floors. To step into the home of Connie was to know love and comfort. She loved her Lord and Savior and never missed an opportunity to share the restoration Jesus Christ performed in her life.
She is survived by two daughters, Leslie Y. (Douglas) Rackard of Bay minette, AL and Tara N. (Chad) McDill of Sebastopol, MS; one son, Brandon F. Weekley of Bay Minette, AL; five stepchildren, Sheryl Kay Lueck of Satellite Beach, FL, Shelly K. Phillips of Cocoa, FL, Roderick M. Phillips of Rockledge, FL, Cindy Weekley Hill of Bay Minette, AL and Toni Weekley Phillips of Bay Minette, AL; eleven grandchildren ad eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roderick H. Phillips; her mother, Mary Kennedy; her father, Henry Franelich and her sister, Amelia Crooms.
