Services for Mr. Gately Brashier were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. Burial was in the Church Cemetery. Rev. David Sartin and Rev. Randall Creel officiated.
Visitation was held from 4:30-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at Milling Funeral Home of Sebastopol and also 30 minutes prior to service at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church on Thursday.
Mr. Brashier, 68, of Conehatta, died on February 4, 2019.
Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Gayle Brashier of Conehatta; one daughter, Greta Brashier (Joey) of Burnsville, MS; two sons, Gabe Brashier of Starkville and Grant Brashier of Sebastopol; four grandchildren, Gunner Gentry, Jay Gentry, Emily Calbaugh and Katlyn Brashier; three great-grandchildren, Remington Gentry, Mary Gentry and James Gentry; mother, Emma Lou Brashier of Decatur; four brothers, Fred Brashier (Mary Ann) of Collinsville, Carl Brashier (Jeannie) of Northport, AL, David Brashier (Paula) of Lawerence, and Daniel Brashier (Judy) of Decatur.
Mr. Brashier was preceded in death by his father, Fred Brashier.
After retiring from Esco in 2013, Gately enjoyed spending time watching Netflix with his cat, Lucky and supporting the New Orleans Saints.
He will be remembered as a loving brother and his desire to spend time with his family. Gately was also a member of Sebastopol Baptist Church.
Pallbearers were Johnny Hardin, Jerry Cooper, Scott Brashier, Daniel Brashier, Jr., Zack Meeks and Zander Meeks.
