George C. Gordin, age 92, a resident of Ocean Springs, formerly of Forest died Monday February 5, 2019 following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday February 7, 2019 from the chapel of the OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest. Rev. David Slaughter officiateed. Final resting place is in the Eastern Cemetery. Graveside services were not be held at the cemetery, the family remained after the service to visit with friends.
Visitation was from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
George Clark Gordin, Sr. was born on Saturday March 20, 1926 in Kosciusko, MS to his parents, Mary Elizabeth Munson and Bryan Gordin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Gordin Payment.
He attended Hinds Jr. College and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Kidd. George was married to Kathryn Nell Berryhill Gordin for 66 years and they shared a career of owning a retail hardware and general merchandise business in Forest, MS for over 30 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Connie Gordin Inabnet (Butch) and son, George Clark Gordin, Jr. (Beth), three grandchildren, Tyler Robinson, G.C. “Jake” Gordin, III, Brook Brown and two great-grandchildren.
