Mr. J.B. Jones, age 91, passed away Sunday February 3, 2019 at his residence in Lawrence, MS. Visitation was held Tuesday February 5, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS and Wednesday February 6, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Lawrence, MS. Services were held Wednesday February 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Lawrence, MS. Burial followed at Pine Ridge Baptist Cemetery in Lawrence, MS. Officiating was Bro. Ben Jones and Bro. Victor Bugg. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Jones was a resident of Lawrence, MS since 1971, formerly living in Meridian, MS. He was a Baptist by faith and a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Lawrence, MS. He loved farming, hunting, fishing, and working in his yard.
He is preceded in death by his son, Randy Scott Jones; He is survived by two daughters, Jan Nester (Eddie) of Lake, MS; Tammy Gibbs (Britt) of Union, MS; three sons, Benny Jones (Paula) of Lauderdale, MS; Ritchie Jones (Brenda) of Pearl, MS; Jeff Jones of Lawrence, MS; two sisters, Robbie Mercy of New Mexico; Martha Swancey of Meridian, MS; 11 grandchildren, Tina Jones, Kim Jones, Todd Watkins, Ben Jones, Brandi Overby, Amy Whitfield, Jana McGee, Jake Nester, Mandy Smith, Jonathan Gibbs and Grant Gibbs. Twenty one great-grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; also a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Steven McGee, Jake Nester, Ben Jones, Todd Watkins, Jonathan Gibbs, and Grant Gibbs.
