Mr. Jerry Hines, age 68 and a resident of Forest passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson after a brief illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Pittman and Pastor Barron Price officiating. Interment followed in the Hillsboro Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation was from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the funeral home.
A native and lifelong resident of Scott County, Jerry was a retired truck driver and a Pentecostal by faith. He will be remembered for his love for his family, in particular his nieces and nephews and the “children” of the community. He was an avid guitarist and a gun enthusiast.
Preceding him in death are his parents: Robert Curtis and Mary Lucille Crout Hines, Sr., and two brothers: Paul and Larry Hines.
He is survived by his siblings: Curtis Hines, Jr., Kenny (Theresa) Hines, Rayburn (Penny) Hines, and Jeannine (David) Cook, all of Forest; and Donald (Sue) Hines of Chandler, TX; two sisters-in-law: Judy Hines of Forest and Kathy Hines of Nashville, TN; ten nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Aaron Hines, Michael Hines, Brandon Hines, Paul Hines, Robert Hines, and Bryan Cook.
