Services for Mr. Joe Walker were held at 3 P.M., Thursday, December 12, 2019, at High Hill Baptist Church. Brothers David Sartin and Don Cook officiated with burial in Sebastopol City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. on Thursday, December 12, 2019 prior to the service at the church. Milling Funeral Home of Sebastopol was in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Joe Walker, 72, of Sebastopol, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2019. Survivors include: his wife of 39 years: Sue Ann Walker; two sons: Frank Walker and wife Wendi of Salem, NH; and B.J. Walker and wife Dee of Mendenhall, MS; two daughters: Amy Duncan and husband Mark of Long Beach, MS; and Joanna Shoemaker and husband Johnathan of Union, MS; 11 Grandchildren, 2 Sisters: Nikki Parish of Florence, MS and Gennie Sumrall of Houma, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Walker and Earl and Mildred Majure; and one son, Wade Fisher.
Mr. Walker retired from Bellsouth. He was a member of High Hill Baptist Church, where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School and serving on numerous committees, including the Building Committee. He was a former board member at the Center of Hope in Forest, MS. Coaching softball for many years was his favorite pastime. He was involved in the Scott County Baptist Brotherhood. His love for the Lord was evident by the way he lived his life serving others.
