Communion is done to represent Christ body and his blood. It was instituted on the night when Jesus and his disciples met together to eat the Passover. Jesus took bread blessed it and broke it and gave it to his disciples and said “Take, eat this, this is my body” Then he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them saying, “Drink from it, all of you For this is my blood.”
