A record 29 teams teed off at the 22nd annual Warrior Golf Classic, held Friday, May 9, at the Oaks Course at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, with proceeds benefiting student scholarships and alumni programs at East Central Community College.
The four-person scramble tournament, hosted by the ECCC Alumni Association, marked its largest participation in event history.
“This tournament continues to be a success each year thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and all those who play,” said Maria McLeod, ECCC director of alumni relations and event coordinator. “We are grateful for their support, which helps us provide much-needed scholarships to our students.”
The team of Josh Sanders, Lake Thoms, Jody Blount and Jason Mangum claimed the Championship Flight with a 22-under-par round of 50 over 18 holes.
In the First Flight, the Ochsner Rush team of Thomas Blake, Ethan Paschal, Dylan Shields and Matthew Perry earned top honors with a 14-under 58.
