Registration for the 2025-2026 school year at Sebastopol Attendance Center is July 22 and 23 in the school auditorium beginning at 9 a.m. New students will need the following items: a birth certificate, a social security card, an immunization record (Form 121), a withdrawal form from previous school, a transcript if in grades 7-12, two current proofs of residency. All students must bring two proofs of residency which can be a combination of any of the following:filed homestead exemption, home mortgage or property deed, notarized rental/lease agreement, utility bill, auto tag receipt, drivers license, voter registration identification. All incoming seventh graders must have an updated immunization form.
Brother Tyler Comans will be bringing the morning message, Sunday, July 6, at Salem Church (Hwy. 487) at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend the worship service. Sunday School is at 10 a.m. prior to the morning worship hour. Beginning the first Sunday in August, Sunday School time will change to 10:15. Morning worship will remain at 11 a.m.
Salem Church (Hwy, 487) will be hosting a Post Fourth of July celebration on Saturday, July 12, from 6 p.m. until after dark when a fireworks display will occur. There will be a waterslide and other activities for the youth. Everyone is welcome to attend. A picnic style meal will be served.
Shout out to Sebastopol Baptist church for their Scott County Love Out Loud 2025 Project. Day one they held a backyard Bible Club with children, lunch for the residents, prayer and backpack give away at the Sebastopol Apartments; day two was spent at the school doing cleanup and repair work; day three was spent visiting local businesses and taking cookies to the business owners.
Rita Kennedy is participating in a stem cell transplant in Arkansas. Friends are attempting to raise money to help them with expenses. Shelia Lang is making a pistachio cake to give away on Sunday, July 6. Chances are $1 each and can be purchased from any member of the Kennedy family or by using cashapp $chloebk15. If you can help with expenses, please take some chances on that delicious cake.
Congratulations to the Beta Club for their wins at the National Beta Club convention. Ninth grader Abigail Pickel placed fourth in the Language Arts Competition. Brody Lacey placed fourth in Division II Sculpture. John Jones placed fifth in the solo/duo/trio in instrumental. Way to go Sebastopol Beta Club.
Salem Church (Hwy, 487) will host its annual rummage sale July 24, 25, 26. Anyone who would like to donate items to the sale, check for a day and time to drop off donations. The ladies will appreciate any items that you might want to donate. All proceeds from the sale are used for community outreach projects. The hours for Thursday and Friday are 7 a.m. till 5 pm and Saturday, 7 a.m. until noon.
