43% Improved prior best actual ACT English score by an average 3.11 points.
Jumpstart Test Prep has announced the ACT exam improvement results from Sebastopol Attendance Center’s students spring test date following the classroom implementation of the Jumpstart Review. Of the students having at least one prior ACT score for improvement comparison, 43% improved prior best actual ACT English score by an average 3.11 points.
Top achievers were recently recognized and include:
● Presley Boykin (English +8 pts.)
● Chad Chamblee (English +6 pts.)
● Mitch Crimm (English +5 pts.)
● Madison Langston (English +5 pts.)
● Sueno Melendez (Scored a 20 on first attempt)
● Madison Phillips (English +6 pts.)
Boykin commented, “Jumpstart helped me because it gave me an opportunity to take time out of my day to focus on the ACT,” Boykin said.
“Jumpstart helped me improve my ACT scores. The flashcards, examples, and videos helped me the most,” Melendez added.
These improvements are not possible without the diligence and support of the teachers tasked to help raise scores at Sebastopol.
The guidance and encouragement of administration also plays a huge role in raising scores.
“We appreciate the opportunity to be included in the Jumpstart Test Prep English ACT Pilot. Our ACT Prep teachers and English III teacher made English ACT instruction a priority this school year, and the program helped students improve their English sub score. The specific ACT instruction from Jumpstart gives our students a targeted approach to gaining higher ACT scores. Higher ACT scores lead to opportunities for dual credit courses, more choices in college admission, and better scholarships,” 2021-2022 Principal Kaleb Smith said.
Jumpstart Test Prep is an online review program based on over 50 years of work by Dot McClendon, a legendary educator and Mississippi’s 19-year STAR teacher Hall of Fame inductee. “As a teacher at The Mississippi School of the Arts and several other schools during my career, I was able to help guide the preparation of students in person,” McClendon said. “Now through our online, on-demand video review, students in Sebastopol classrooms, as well as classrooms around the country, around the breakfast table, or on the couch at home, are able to benefit from our approach.”
