Stephen and Madelyn Cole and children Levi, Sophia, Lillian, Joshua and Elisha report having a wonderful vacation of several days while visiting his mother Melanie Powell and spouse Jim in Rutledge, Tennessee, some of the highlights of the trip were enjoying the scenic beauty of the Smokey Mountains, touring the Aqurarium in Gatlinburg, The Museum of Appalachia at Norris, driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway and climbing to Clingman's Dome plus the refreshing adventure of wading barefoot in the sparkling, cold, running mountain streams.
Mel, Frisky and Brian Roland enjoyed a delightful celebration of two birthday anniversaries; Mel’s (August 3) and Nell Burns Wall’s (August 7) during a toast to the occasion at the lovely home of Nell and her spouse Ed in Jackson. This was followed by a delicious meal and fellowship visit at Amerigo Restaurant in Jackson. Nell is a Native of the Forkville community and she, Ed and Frisky were students at East Central Junior College (now East Central Community College) and have been good friends since those school days years (now decades) ago. Needless to say this was a Birthday to remember.
